Chopper Spirals Out of Control into Palm Groves at Well-Known California Coast
A chopper soaring near a crowded coastal coastline suddenly began spiraling uncontrollably, ultimately losing altitude and crashing into a cluster of palm fronds as beachgoers looked on.
Recordings posted on social media capture the chopper beginning to twirl near Huntington Beach then plunging in the direction of the edge of the beach, where it becomes wedged between palms and a staircase adjacent to the Pacific Coast highway.
Rescue Operation Information
Emergency responders stated five persons were transported to a medical facility including two individuals who were in the aircraft and were “extracted safely from the crash site” after the crash on that day.
Three people on the pavement were injured. Details on their condition were not immediately available.
