Paramount Skydance Plans to Cut Nearly 2,000 American Positions – Report

Skydance Paramount will start significant workforce reductions the week of 27 October, cutting approximately 2,000 positions in the United States as part of a budget-saving initiative totaling $2bn led by top executive David Ellison.

The workforce reduction come after the combination between Skydance Media and Paramount Global, completed this past August valued at $8.4bn.

More overseas workforce reductions are likely, with the company planning to announce all specifics in its Q3 financial results on 10 November.

Previous updates suggested the company planned to cut from 2,000 to 3,000 jobs by the beginning of next month.

As of December 2024, the company had almost 18,600 workers on full-time and part-time contracts along with 3,500 temporary project employees.

The organization did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
